Martin Clinic Healing House and Curative Community
Currently our project is small but underneath there is the will to take a larger role in the world. Of prime importance is to reunite the practice of medicine with community. This can only be accomplished by redefining the relationship of medical debt into a relationship of belonging in community. We aim to create an intentional community of support staff for the working of the clinic. We will have a Healing House in the greater Atlanta area and a Curative Community in the mountains of Tennessee. The Healing House will offer a clinic and artistic therapies such as music, painting, sculpting, and eurythmy therapy. Massage, therapeutic baths and compresses will be offered. Dietary workshops focused on a healthy ketogenic diet, biodynamics, and avoidance of toxins in food will take a prominent place. The Healing House will be open to everyone, free at the point of care, and a mixing pot for providers and patients. The goal will be to offer living space for some of our staff and patients in need. Gardening, art, and social engagement will be prominent.
We will create a Curative Community on 125 acres in the Tennessee mountains. This will be an intentional community of several dozen people who place themselves in service to the mission of the Martin Clinic. We will have a mistletoe retreat with tiny houses and a clinic serving local community as well as patients from further afield. No fees will be charged. We will have a farm and forest based Waldorf school and biodynamic farm. A land trust will comprise much of the community. The therapeutic arts and massages will be offered here. We will use our complimentary currency AERMarks to facilitate internal economic circles. All coworkers will receive a small stipend in both dollars and AERMarks for their work and greater needs can be discussed and met in community.
This community will aim to serve an educational purpose for inhabitants in the practice of Anthroposophic medicine. We will live sustainably, honoring our beautiful environment while aiming to bring healing to people and to the ecosystem.
We will be seeking coworkers of any skill level. We are particularly interested in those with experience with biodynamic farming, Waldorf education, medical training (from CNA to MD), homesteading, maintenance, forestry and the therapeutic arts.
